Google has announced the largest artificial intelligence investment program in its history. The company will allocate $24 billion to develop infrastructure in India and the United States.
The tech giant continues to expand its computing power and data centers to meet the growing global demand for AI products.
Under a five-year plan, Google will invest $15 billion to establish its first AI campus in India. The new facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, will include a data center and an international subsea cable landing station connecting multiple global cable routes.
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian stated that the project will create high-paying jobs and drive innovation in both India and the United States.
These investments follow Google’s announcement of $9 billion allocated to expand infrastructure in South Carolina by 2027. The company plans to build two new data centers in Dorchester County and upgrade its existing campus in Berkeley County.
Alphabet and Google President Ruth Porat emphasized that the projects will strengthen Google’s regional presence and support workforce training in the technology and energy sectors. Additionally, the company will provide grants to train 160 interns in South Carolina.
Google continues to scale its global infrastructure. In 2025, the company announced $5.4 billion in investments in Belgium and $6.3 billion in the United Kingdom to expand AI research and data center operations.
According to analysts, Google’s investment cycle reflects a new phase of the technology boom. Major IT companies including Microsoft, Meta, and OpenAI are allocating record amounts to energy-intensive data centers and semiconductor manufacturing.
Through these initiatives, they are building the foundation for the next generation of artificial intelligence.
Previously, Google launched its AI Plus subscription in Ukraine, offering expanded access to Gemini tools.
